Since an accidental Thanksgiving invite in 2016, Jamal Hinton and Wanda Dench from Arizona are gearing up to celebrate their eighth consecutive Thanksgiving together.
Their viral story began when Dench mistakenly texted Hinton, inviting him over for dinner, thinking he was her grandson. Hinton made Dench aware of the mistake, but she still asked him to stop by anyway. Despite the mix-up, they connected, and their friendship blossomed.
This year, they are partnering with Airbnb to welcome a lucky guest into Dench's home for a traditional Thanksgiving feast, board games, movies, and even an annual selfie tradition. The Airbnb experience, priced at $16, commemorates their initial Thanksgiving in 2016 and is aimed to create meaningful new connections and share their tradition with others.
Their friendship extends beyond just Thanksgiving, sharing experiences like Dench's first tattoo at 65 and watching Super Bowl 2022 together. It's so great to see a mix-up turn into such a long-lasting friendship!
Jamal and Wanda, we want to wish you a happy Thanksgiving and cheers to many more holidays and memories together!
